We are a group of dancers and non-dancers. Half of our team is made up of Special Olympic athlete, the other half is made up of volunteers that donate their time. Our team is in need of "volunteer dancers" to help keep this very important team thriving. As with any team, members come and go as their lives permit.
Right now we need leaders that are willing to donate 1 hour every other Thursday night, plus their travel time, to this team. We need about 8 new volunteers, male and or female. You DO NOT NEED TO BE A DANCER, you just need to be there for these special, gifted people. I will teach you to dance.
What you will get in return is far greater than 1 hour of practice. You will get...
..Being greeted at the door by Susie...she will tell you that you are her hero, and she will mean it, because it will be true.. Steven will share his love of the "Yankees" with you; Elizabeth will excite you with her enthusiasm and wonderful smile. Rosiland will tell you how much she enjoys dancing, Karen will be very shy at first, but she is full of love and grace. Tim will also be shy, he wonders who will be his next partner. Adam will show off his great dance moves, Gabby will win you over with her beautiful smile and loving ways. Mike, Mike and Mike will have you laughing in no time. Kym will keep you dancing with his excitement, and the list goes on and on.
Someone once ask me why I did this...because from the minute I walk in to class until the minute I leave, my heart is filled with love from all of the special dancers with their open acts of kindness and love, their pure hearts, minds and spirits.
Please call me with any questions or concerns. I promise you that your return will be far greater that you can image. Their love is such a reward.
Warmly,
Dee Soares
